La Pantera Edwards, one step from the title
Joselyne Edwards, born in Panama City on September 29, 1995, is the first Panamanian in the UFC and the one who has gone furthest. She reaches the end of the year with a record of 18 wins and 6 losses and a three-fight winning streak: a first-round knockout of Priscila Cachoeira in August 2025, with a Performance of the Night bonus; a submission of Nora Cornolle in February 2026 in Houston, avenging her loss in Paris; and a unanimous decision over Norma Dumont in April 2026.
That streak took her to number one in the women’s bantamweight rankings, just below champion Kayla Harrison. Edwards has said she wants a third fight in 2026 and that she wants it for the belt. The UFC has not yet announced a date or opponent, but with the number one ranking in hand, the Panamanian is the natural challenger.
