The two lines cross at San Miguelito station. A trip combining both costs 0.85 balboas, the sum of the two fares. The trains are automated, run every 3 to 6 minutes at peak times and the average speed is 50 km/h.

- Saturdays: 5:00 to 22:00.
- Sundays and holidays: 7:00 to 22:00.
How to pay
The fare is paid with the Metro card, rechargeable at stations, authorised shops and online. The same card works on Metrobús, the city’s bus system, with a fare of 0.25 balboas per trip and 1.25 on the expressways. Pensioners and people with disabilities have discounts with the corresponding card. Coins and notes are not accepted at the turnstiles.
Line 3 to West Panama
Line 3 is a 25-kilometre monorail with 11 stations that will link Albrook with Ciudad del Futuro, in Arraiján, crossing the Canal through a tunnel under the waterway. It is the first train to connect West Panama with the capital and will replace part of the traffic on the Bridge of the Americas and the Centennial Bridge. Overall progress is around 69% in 2026: the elevated viaduct is at 86% and the underground section at 68%.
Opening will be in phases: the elevated section between Ciudad del Futuro and Panamá Pacífico has a completion date of April 2027, and the full section to Albrook of October 2028. It is estimated to carry 160,000 passengers a day from day one, close to Line 2’s figure.
What changes for those living or investing in West Panama
- The Arraiján–Albrook journey, which today can exceed an hour by car, will drop to about 30 minutes.
- Residential projects near the future stations (Nuevo Chorrillo, Vista Alegre, Ciudad del Futuro) already use Line 3 as a selling point.
- A second phase to La Chorrera is planned.
