Which online degrees are listed
The search “online degrees in Panama” mixes programs of very different kinds: courses, diplomas, bachelor’s degrees and graduate programs. For a bachelor’s or a master’s, the piece that gives certainty is the approval resolution. Universidad Latina de Panamá (ULatina) shows it on each program page, which makes the following table possible. All data come from the university’s own program pages, linked in each row.
| Online program | Level | Resolution shown on the program page | Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bachelor’s in Accounting (online) | Bachelor’s | Approved, CTDA-111-2026 | April 13, 2026 |
| Bachelor’s in International Trade and Logistics (online) | Bachelor’s | Approved, CTDA-122-2021 | August 8, 2021 |
| Bachelor’s in Commercial Engineering (online) | Bachelor’s | Approved, CTDA-126-2025 | July 17, 2025 |
| Bachelor’s in Financial and Banking Management (online) | Bachelor’s | Approved, CTDA-86-2026 | April 23, 2026 |
| Bachelor’s in Human Resources Administration (online) | Bachelor’s | Updated, CTDA-107-2026 | April 30, 2026 |
| Bachelor’s in Maritime Management with a focus on Port Operations (online) | Bachelor’s | Updated, CTDA-67-2026 | March 24, 2026 |
| Master’s in Big Data and Data Science (online) | Master’s | Approved, CTDA-68-2026 | March 26, 2026 |
| Master’s in Health Services Management (100% online format) | Master’s | Approved, CTDA-125-2026 | Confirmed on the program page |
Data taken from ULatina’s program pages in October 2026. The website groups the online business bachelor’s degrees under its School of Business and lists Commercial Engineering under the engineering school. Resolutions are updated over time, so the current program page prevails over this table.
Reading the table is simple. “Approved” means the program was approved with that resolution; “updated” means an existing program received a resolution that modified its plan. Having the resolution number on the page makes verification easier, because a student can ask the university for the document and compare it. The length and curriculum of each degree are confirmed with the admissions officer, reachable at 230-8600 or mercadeo@ulatina.edu.pa, according to the website.
How to check that a degree is approved
No legal training is needed to verify a program. The sequence below works for any private university in the country, not just ULatina.
- Look the university up at CONEAUPA. The Council publishes lists of universities by status. In its status list, ULatina appears among the re-accredited universities, and the re-accredited page cites Resolution No. 07 of November 7, 2022.
- Read the program’s resolution. The degree page should carry the CTDA resolution number and its date. If it is missing, it is requested in writing from admissions.
- Confirm that it says “online”. The program name and page must match the format being contracted. An on-campus degree is not automatically online.
- Check the list of accredited degrees. CONEAUPA keeps a list of accredited degrees.
- Ask for the curriculum and the regulations. With the curriculum in hand, courses, credits and graduation requirements can be compared.
- Keep a copy. The resolution, curriculum and enrollment conditions are worth filing before paying the first term.
CTDA and CONEAUPA: what each one does
The two acronyms appear together in almost every search about approved degrees, and they do different things. According to the functions page of the CTDA, this commission approves the curricular designs of undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate degrees and programs, as well as the statutes and curricula of private universities. It also checks that degrees meet authorization requirements, through oversight instruments that include the review of the physical or virtual facilities for each degree.
CONEAUPA runs the National Evaluation and Accreditation System created by Law 52 of 2015. The Council states on its website that it manages university accreditation and re-accreditation processes and publishes the legal framework; the rules are gathered in its laws section. In practical terms, the CTDA answers “is this program approved?” and CONEAUPA answers “how does the university stand on accreditation?”.
On the online format, a policy paper from CIEDUPanamá sets out the regulatory framework and lists among the relevant texts Executive Decree 949 of 2011, on distance universities, and Executive Decree 61 of 2022, which according to its summary regulates the creation and operation of distance universities in blended and online formats. Anyone who needs the exact text should consult the Gaceta Oficial.
What to review before enrolling
Once approval is confirmed, the choice depends on practical factors. These five points come up often among people who study while working, the profile ULatina itself targets when it describes its online Commercial Engineering degree as an option to combine study and a job.
- Field of study. Business holds most of ULatina’s online offer: accounting, international trade, finance, human resources and port operations.
- Entry requirements. The admission documents are detailed on the website, and online enrollment accepts scanned documents with originals checked by video call, according to the website.
- Credit transfer. Anyone bringing courses from another university should ask how many are recognized before choosing a degree.
- Reference campus. Even if the format is online, the program page lists ULatina’s campuses (Panamá, C. Salud Panamá, Penonomé, Azuero, Santiago and David), useful for in-person paperwork.
- Graduate study. The two online master’s programs add to the university’s master’s offer, which groups programs by field.
ULatina publishes each online bachelor’s degree with its approval resolution. The School of Business groups the options and links to each degree page.
Common mistakes when choosing an online degree
Some missteps repeat. Confusing a diploma course with a bachelor’s degree is the first: continuing education programs have a different scope than a degree-granting program. The second is trusting an old resolution; the current page may carry a later update, like the 2026 ones in the table. The third is not comparing formats: ULatina’s website presents, for example, the Master’s in Clinical Psychology as an on-campus specialization, so “master’s” does not mean “online master’s”. The fourth is not asking in writing for what is promised verbally, such as deadlines or graduation conditions.
