Three cases in Panama: what happened when content was structured for AI

In short: three projects developed in Panama and the region show what happens when a company publishes clear, structured and verifiable content, designed to be read by search engines and artificial intelligence models alike. A luxury real estate project increased its organic traffic by 541% in six months; a beach hotel by 210% in a quarter, with its domain authority rising from 4 to 14; and an industrial furniture manufacturer by 68% in a quarter, with authority going from 3 to 42 in two years. The cases were presented by Néstor Romero, chief operating officer of Centria Group, at a workshop for Panama’s Canal de Empresarias sponsored by Banistmo. His reading: it is not a tactic but a criterion, and the same work serves both Google and AI.

The three cases

Beach hotelStructured markup on the site plus content about Panama’s tourist appeal published in specialised digital media worldwide+210% organic traffic in a quarter; Ahrefs Domain Rating from 4 to 14 in three months
Industrial furniture manufacturer, B2B sales in several countries through hardware stores and retailersSector reports and content adapted to AI engines, a highly structured catalogue-style ecommerce and a technical blog+68% organic traffic in a quarter; Domain Rating from 3 to 42 in two years

Figures presented by Néstor Romero at the Digital Marketing, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Entrepreneurship Workshop for Panama’s Canal de Empresarias, at Torre Banistmo. Radar Panamá has not independently audited the data. All three results are organic visibility metrics, that is, SEO metrics.

“What these three cases have in common is not a tactic, it is a criterion: structure, clarity, specialisation and demonstrable authority. That is the work that lets an artificial intelligence model understand your content, trust it and cite it. And it is also the work that still orders your visibility in the traditional search engine. They are not two different strategies: it is the same house, well kept.” Néstor Romero.

What they have in common

Structure

Tables, catalogues and listings with the same fields on every page, and structured data (schema.org) that tells the machine what each thing is.

Clarity

Direct answers to the questions customers ask, without detours, in the languages they ask in. In the real estate case, for investors searching in English from outside Panama.

Specialisation

Content only someone who knows the sector can write: sector reports, a technical blog, guides to the destination.

Demonstrable authority

Publications in specialised media in other countries that repeat the same facts and link to the site. That is what raised the domain authority of the hotel and the manufacturer.

Key fact: the work that produces these results on Google (structure, clarity, content with judgement and demonstrable authority) is the same work that lets an AI model understand content and cite it. Keeping the house in order serves both.

The precision the speaker asked for

Romero insisted on separating what can be proven from what cannot yet. “These results are organic visibility, and it is worth saying precisely: they are SEO metrics. What matters is that the work producing them is exactly the same work that lets an AI model understand your content and cite it.”

The reason is that, according to the scientific review his team leads, no validated instrument yet exists to measure a brand’s presence inside an AI answer. “The field measures a lot and validates little. We can show good traffic results, but when I ask how we rigorously measure a brand’s presence inside an AI answer, the honest answer is that there is still no scientifically validated instrument.”

Why the small company starts with an advantage

The workshop was aimed at Panamanian businesswomen and entrepreneurs, within the training programme Banistmo runs for the Canal de Empresarias. Romero argued that this profile starts from a better position than is usually assumed: “In the traditional search engine, competing with big brands required budget. In AI engines what counts is the clarity, specialisation and consistency of what you publish. I have seen leading brands with flawless SEO that do not appear when AI answers, and much smaller competitors slip into those answers.”

How to apply it

  1. Choose the questions. Write down the ten questions customers ask before buying, in Spanish and in English if the customer is international.
  2. Answer them in extractable form. One page or section per question, with a direct answer in the first paragraph, a table if there is data and a source if there are figures.
  3. Structure the catalogue. The same fields for every product, service or property, with structured data.
  4. Seek corroboration outside. Sector media and directories that repeat the same facts and link to the site.
  5. Measure on Google and ask the AI. Search Console for traffic; ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity to check every month whether the brand appears and which sources they cite.
Frequently asked questions

What results did the real estate project get?

A 541% increase in organic traffic in six months, with multilingual, clear and structured content aimed at international investors, as presented by Néstor Romero.

How did the beach hotel raise its domain authority?

By combining structured markup on the site with content about Panama’s tourist appeal published in specialised digital media in other countries. Its Ahrefs Domain Rating went from 4 to 14 in three months and organic traffic rose 210% in a quarter.

Are these AI or Google results?

They are organic search visibility metrics, that is, SEO. According to Romero, the work that produces them is the same work that lets an AI model understand and cite content, but presence in AI still has no validated measurement instrument.
