Why the G700 is the one to see
Panama was the first country in the Americas to receive it, in January 2026, and its official launch was an expedition to Volcán Barú in May. It is a full-size off-roader on a ladder frame like traditional 4x4s, but driven by a 2.0 turbo engine and two electric motors that give it around 100 km in electric mode. In October 2025 a prepared unit crossed the Yangtze River in China by water, the story Radar Panamá told in the SUV that crossed the Yangtze River and climbed Volcán Barú.
The bet: plug-in hybrids
Three of the four models the brand highlights at the fair are plug-in hybrids. It makes sense in Panama: pure electric cars are barely around 1% of the market, according to ADAP, because of the perceived lack of charging infrastructure outside the capital, and a plug-in hybrid charges at home for daily use and keeps the petrol engine for long trips. JETOUR is, with Changan, one of the fastest-growing brands in a market where Chinese manufacturers already sell almost one in three new cars.
What to ask at the stand
- Exact equipment of each version. On the G700, what separates the 5-seat from the 6-seat version; on the T1, which driver aids each one includes.
- Warranty in writing. The distributor publishes 7 years or 200,000 km for the vehicle and 8 years or 150,000 km for the hybrid battery.
- Home charging. Which charger is included, how long it takes and what electrical installation it needs.
- Workshop and parts. Which is the nearest Petromotors branch and the cost of the first three services.
- Fair conditions. Which benefit applies only during the event and until when it stays at the dealership.
- Test drive. Book it before signing; it is not always possible at the venue.
