Jetour T1 technical sheet: engine, power and transmission

The Jetour T1 offers three powertrains: a 1.5 turbo with 181 hp, a 2.0 turbo with 251 hp and a 342 hp plug-in hybrid system. The petrol engines are direct injection and deliver peak power at 5,500 rpm.

The 2.0 turbo is the same engine as the Jetour T2, but in the T1 it is paired with a conventional eight-speed automatic instead of a dual clutch. Jetour T1 plug-in hybrid: battery, electric range and power

The plug-in hybrid version of the Jetour T1 claims 150 km in 100% electric mode (NEDC cycle) thanks to a 26.7 kWh battery, and is the most powerful in the range with 342 hp. It is the option for anyone who mostly drives urban routes and can charge at home or at work.

The cycle used changes the figure a lot. NEDC is the most optimistic; WLTC, closer to real use, lowers the electric range to 117 km. In a test drive in Chile, The Clinic estimated between 65 and 80 electric km in real conditions. Even so, it comfortably covers a typical daily commute in Panama City without using petrol.

Jetour T1 4×4: XWD traction and off-road drive modes

The Sport 2.0T version is the only Jetour T1 with all-wheel drive (XWD) in Panama, and adds features that are unusual in a compact SUV: centre differential lock, electronic limited-slip differential and water depth detection when wading.

Its width and height place it above the segment average: it is about 10 cm wider and about 15 cm taller than a RAV4 or a CX-5. Jetour T1 safety: 5 stars ASEAN NCAP and ADAS assistance

The Jetour T1 earned five stars in ASEAN NCAP with 87.67 points, under the 2021-2025 protocol, and all versions sold in Panama carry six airbags. Autonomous emergency braking (AEB) is available in the Sport and Hybrid versions.

The unit assessed was the 2.0 turbo version for the Asian market, according to the ASEAN NCAP report. It is a useful reference for the vehicle’s structure, but not a test of the exact configuration sold in Panama.

The Sport and Hybrid versions fit a 15.6-inch central screen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9-speaker Sony audio system. The Comfort uses a 12.8-inch screen and six speakers.

Between Sport and Hybrid, at the same price, the key question is whether you need all-wheel drive. If not, and you have somewhere to charge, the hybrid cuts daily petrol spending. If off-road use is frequent, the Sport is the only version with 4×4.
